The mighty Trojans will meet the Cocoa High School Team, Thursday, December 5, 1957 at 8 P.M. at the Venetian Gardens Ball Park. This will be the last game of the season for the Trojans. This game will determine if the Trojans will second-year Champs of this district. Everyone is invited to come out and see the Trojans in action for the last time this football season. The band and chorus are preparing for their Christmas Program. They will present “Christmas in Music.”

Trojans Face Cocoa Here In Final Game, Trophy At Stake, November 27, 1957

The Carver Heights Trojans, fresh from a lopsided 57-7 victory over Port St. Joe, will meet the Monroe Cats of Cocoa in their final game, Thursday, December 5, 8 p.m., at Venetian Gardens.

The game is all-important to both squads for with the victory goes the Central-Florida Conference championship. The bands from both high schools will perform at half-time.

For the first time, the Lake County Training School will be allowed to extend their annual homecoming day parade route down Main Street, City Commissioners decided Monday night, setting a precedent in Leesburg.

School principal P. E. Williams said that they would like more people to see the parade by allowing it to come at least two blocks past Canal Street, their limit in past years.

Commissioner Tim Knowles inquired how the school became limited, and was told by City Manager Keener Mizell that “It has been suggested they not come up Main Street.”

“They’ll have to cut it short if they want to stay on Main Street, because it ties up traffic,” Police Chief Bill Fisher said.

Knowles asked if the only objection to the parade was the traffic difficulty and Fisher replied, “Yes.”
