LEESBURG -  It's true! The famous Marching "100" of Florida A&M University will give the half-time show at the Venetian Gardens on Thursday night, Nov. 7, when Carver Heights High Trojans will play their Homecoming game against the Panthers of Phyllis Wheatley High of Apopka. The gates will open at 6 p.m. A gigantic pre-game show will be staged by the Marching Trojans Band and the Panther's Band, plus the Homecoming queens and their courts. This extravaganza will begin at 7 p.m. The game will begin promptly at 8 p.m. and the famous Marching Rattlers will give the entire half-time show. The Victory Ball will staged in the school's auditorium immediately after the game.

Trojans To Face Hungerford, August 1, 1961

Coach H. O. Dabney and his staff will place their lighting Trojans on the home gridiron next Thursday at 8 p.m. to face the Hungerford Bobcats. The place for the Initial home game Is the beautiful Venetian Gardens.
 
Graduation took some key men like Hannah and Hawkins away. We hope to see Richard Davis, Robert Brown, Foy Robinson and many others fighting hard for "dear ole Carver".
In addition . to the game, Jesse Holliman and his marching Trojans
will be seen in one of their performances that it always enjoyed.

LEESBURG - Tonight at 8 in the Carver Heights High School cafetorium Ruth Dunbar, a junior, will be crowned "Miss Homecoming Queen."

Mrs. Mary B. Davis, sponsor of class 11-2, with the help of her students, was successful in raising the largest amount of money in the senior high department.

Members of the royal court will include Miss Junior High, Trojan's Sweetheart and Miss New Homemakers of America.

Homecoming festivities are scheduled throughout the week. Homecoming Day is Thursday.

Thursday night the Carver Trojans meet the Apopka High eleven at Venetian Gardens in the Homecoming game.

Game time is 8 p.m.

Leesburg Negro Team Opens Slate Tonight, September 26, 19501950

LEESBURG, Sept. 26 - Coach Hubert Dabney, of the Leesburg colored training school announced here today that the Leesburg Trojans would open their 1950 football season here tomorrow night at 8 P. M. in the Venetian Gardens against a strong team from Sanford.

Coaches Dabney and Wilburn Gary, reported that they have 28 boys out for the team and have been practicing for about three weeks.

The Trojans' schedule calls for the following games: Sept. 27-Sanford here; Oct. 5-Orland here 12 - Lake City here, New Smyrna Beach away; 26-Live Oak away; Nov. 2-Cocoa here; 10-Palmetto here (homecoming); 17-Melbourne away; 23-Madison here.

The following boys are out for the team: Eugene Chapman, Leon Warren, Ned Mosley, Sam Chissolm, Willie Carr, Vasco Rimes, Levon Roundtree, Thomas Farrior, Clifford Smalley, Lacey Hollinsworth, Wilbert Williams, David Brown, Albert Dixon, Arthur House, C. Williams, Albert O'Neal, Earl Inman, Ezell Hearn, Freddie Commoder, Ernest Bailey, Freddie Lynum, Johnnie Jackson, Hamie Gillard, Jessie Smith, Charles Williams, Walter Wiggins, Thomas Chapman and Henry Borges.

LEESBURG - The Leesburg Colored Training School Trojans will open their 1950 football season against a strong invading team from Sanford at the Venetian Gardens here at 8 p.m. tonight. Seats will be reserved for white fans.

Coaches Hubert Dabney and Wilburn Gary will have a squad of 28 players to send against the Sanford eleven. After three weeks of daily workouts, the Leesburg coaches believe they will have a strong team at the school this year.
