Coach Hubert Dabney's Carver Heights High School Trojans opened their 1956 season Friday night with a roaring 34-7 defeat of last year's Conference Champions Hungerford of Winter Park.

Last year this same team defeated the Trojans here in Leesburg by a close score of 19-18. However, this time the Trojans were out for revenge and made a complete one-sided affair of the game.

From the very outset, the Trojans unleashed a devastating ground attack that the enemy could not withstand. After Hungerford's first and only score, they never came within the Trojans 40 yard line.

The longest run of the game was a 54 yard jaunt by Hawkins, fullback of the Trojans, who was hauled down on the one yard line but went over on the next play for the score. The entire squad played hard and alert ball and to distinguish any one player, would be hard to do. This was a conference game, and for next week, the boys have their eyes set on Eustis, another conference team.

This game will be played in Eustis.

The first home game is October 11, with the Class "A" Howard High of Ocala. Here are the lineup and scoring quarters of the Trojans - Bobcats game:

Trojans: Pos., LE, Stephens; LT, Patterson; LG, Sneed; C, Moat (C); RG, Hamilton; RT, Lesane, RE, Haynes; QB, Lowery; LHB, Bisbee; FB, Hawkins; RHB, Ward

Hungerford: Pos., LE, Lester; LT, Alexander; LG, Johns: C, Peal; RG, Dickson; RT, James; RE, Clark; QB, Seays; LHB, Henry; FB, Scott; RHB, Filmore.
