The time is almost at hand for making the decision as to who will wear the crown as conference champs for the 1960 football season.

Football fans throughout Central Florida are eagerly awaiting kick-off time here tonight, when the hard fighting Trojans of the Carver Heights High school tangle with the fighting Gophers of Melbourne in their sixth annual homecoming tilt at the beautiful Venetian Garden Ball Park. A number of predictions have been made about this game such as a 6-0 or a 7-6 victory for the Trojans.

The Gophers with five victories and one defeat will be running from the T formation, trying everything they have for the crown. With such a passing attack for the Gophers the game from start to finish will be full of excitement.

The Carver Heights Trojans who have been conference champs for the last four out of five years will also be shooting everything they  have from start to finish to hold on to their crown. The Trojans, with their flashy offense compose of right half back Hanna, a triple ace threat for the Trojans, Arnett Hawkins, a threat for short yard gaining and extra point kicking: Frank Gibbs, fullback, the little man with all the power and the diminutive quarterback Eddie Joe Sneed, tough as they come on both offense and defense will be calling the plays that will carry the Trojans to another victory.

The game will begin at 8:15 P.M., following a program show by the Marching Gopher band of Melbourne. This band has made great progress over the past years in all phases of play. In marching competition they were rated superior in class B competition.
