Coach Hubert Dabney turned loose his young and green Trojans last night in an interscholastic game against arch rival Bates Avenue High of Eustis and when the slam bam hard hitting contest had ended, the Trojans of Carver Heights were on the long end of the score 12-0.

This was the opening game of the season for the local Blue and Gold lads if last night's indication is any criteria, these boys are going to be hard to handle as the season progresses.

On three other ocassions, the Leesburgers missed golden opportunities that could be attributed to first game jitters and when the game ended, the Trojans were on Eustis' four yard line first and goal.

Johnnie Fluitt, quarterback was in the drivers seat all the way and kept the opponents guessing throughout the contest.

However, the work-horse for the night was Artis Brown, a junior, who was just unstoppable. Brown scored the first touchdown on a five yards burst through center and culminated his evening chore with a beautiful fifty yards run. Artis sprang into the clear at midfield and simply outran everybody in sight.

Penalties were in abundance against the Trojans but desire overcame all obstacles. They will be either Thursday or Friday night at the Carver Heights Athletic Field. The exact date will be announced later.
